This explains about glia cells

http://painsandiego.com/tag/allodynia/

Naltrexone is an immune modulator.

The site of action of naltrexone is at the Toll-like receptor (TLR4) attached to the cell surface membrane of glia.

The ability to view activated glia would help greatly in treatment of so many conditions including neuropathic pain.

I was thinking about trying this drug myself but havent seen much on it for nerve pain. I spoke to a doctor who thinks my burning/allodynia is from neuroinflamation. There really isnt many drugs on the market that target this. I was told that in the next few years some may come out as they are in clinical trials.
