theta and others,

I have struggles with forms for 12 years. I have found a few tricks. First, use two blank sheets of paper to cover above and below the line you are trying to fill in. The PCS brain can get easily overwhelmed by the page full of blank spaces.

It can also help to have someone else fill out the form by asking you questions. My struggle to fill out forms cost me my Work Comp claim.

the Old Guy was way off base with his claim that your were uncooperative. It just shows the uphill battle you have before you. It helps to have a concise explanation of your struggles. Maybe " If I don't take a break, I will start babbling like an idiot." "I am struggling to keep focus on what you are saying" "You need to slow your speech down. I am struggling to understand what you are saying. Can we take a break or finish this another day?"

You did good by kicking him out but his comments on your records will be interesting. The process of a claim often gets in the way of communicating accurate information.

For everybody, if you can learn how to describe your struggles objectively, it will make a big difference. I can not process people speaking with thick accents. I struggle when there are lots of visual images behind the other person.

I will tell the person I need to close my eyes so can try to focus on what they are saying. Anything that can help them understand your immediate struggle will be a big help.

There are no perfect responses. It just takes a willingness to try to understand your own condition.

btw, I scored 51 49. In the past I would have been probably 75 left 25 right
