Hi Skippyfeet,
When you click on Reply and see that box with the message you're replying to, that's the message being quoted, so in a long series of replies people will know exactly what you're replying to. You can edit that quote by deleting the parts you
aren't replying to.
Just use the scroll bar on the right side of that text box and begin typing a line or two below the quoted text. Below the icons under the text box, there are buttons to either
Preview your Post (so you can see what it looks like and edit it) or
Submit it. New members posts are often held up a bit until the moderators get a chance to review them. This is temporary to cut down on spam & trolls. They will appear soon.
