I also have to speak impromptu - usually with very little notice. Its gone well to date but I find I have to quash an onslaught of nerves and keep my hands hidden in the moments just before. Once I start talking I'm ok. Toastmasters a few years ago really helped. Crazy this disease - some tasks it incapacitates, others it gifts.
