I have tried most of the muscle relaxers and sleep aids out there, but the best one I have found for me is Zanaflex (tizanadine). It puts me to seep within about 30 minutes. The problem with those is that they don't work for long and I wake up within about 2 hours. I am prescribed them 4 a day and there's no way I could take them in the daytime (although I do if I NEED to take a nap) so I take them spaced out at night and that's the ONLY way I can get any sleep.
Beside the pain, what keeps me awake is muscle jerks and spasms. Even though I take the muscle relaxer I still have really bad jerks. Sometimes my leg is like popcorn and sometimes I have very violent let movement. I have never been one to have muscle jerks but since having CRPS I have them not only in my affected leg, but everywhere. It drives me nuts.
