Oral infections of any kind can spread through the lymphatic system and cause skin eruptions and inflammation elsewhere on the body. You might be best off consulting your physician and explain to him the history with this tooth. Unfortunately, many dentists rarely connect the mouth with the rest of the body and are not the best "doctors" when it comes to diagnosing physical ailments.. even when they are the result of a dental problem.

Have you consulted with your physician?
