Matt,
My son has had his PCS since 2/17, thus a similar amount of time. He is improving and everyone is a little different but I have not heard anyone tell me they have been suffering for years. I think you do gradually get better. Depending on your responsibilities, work, school etc, you need rest until symptoms go away. Very gradually activity, cognitive and physical should be increased as long as symptoms don,t relapse. A neuropsychologist and neurology referral should be obtained from primary care physician and they should be experienced with concussions, usually sports medicine specialists are. The neurpsychologist helps you plan your recovery etc. You have a temporary disability and should be treated as such. One day at a time and you will get better. Hang in there! More and more is being understood about this issue but general practitioners understand very little.
