Hi Hortonel,

Your husband may have 6 teeth that you can see. However, he may have root tips of other teeth that have to come out. Could that be?

Also, let me say that the average person will have a total of 32 teeth in their mouth. So for him to need 26 extractions would mean that at least 20 of those teeth are broken or just root tips since you can visually see 6 teeth. Does that sound like that could be his case?

Many times additional bone surgery is done at the time of the extractions called Alveoplasty or bone re-contouring/rejuvenation. Is he having that done too?
