I don't have an answer, but I worry about the same thing as well. I am the primary income provider and I know my husband wouldn't ever be able to make the money I do. The docs won't tell me (or can't) how bad this will get. Worse, better in a few years, worse before it gets better, whatever. Mine is from a burn, and my lawsuit will cover the costs, but that's a big part of what I'm suing for - what could happen if the neuropathy takes over completely. And even if meds can help, they make me stupid and I know it's affecting my work already.
I'd love to hear about other's experiences in how their path down the PN road went. How bad will it get and how soon? What did you do to keep working? How long did you work until you had to go on disability? Or did you change jobs?
I kind of wonder if I will end up working for myself in some way. That way I can set my hours, maybe sell stuff online (art quality photography or crafty items).
Regarding the long term disability, can one still get it after they have PN (as well as other issues)?
