Anacrusis, You completely misunderstood what I was saying, so, no, you weren't hearing me. Sorry.

I didn't want anyones concerns getting lost in a long post, that's all. They often do. I don't have anything against long posts and was by no means saying that you couldn't start one and make it long! But if someone has a concern, it's a good idea to start a new thread. I've seen a lot of questions not answered because of that lately, that's all.

If I decide to wade through a long thread or not, that's my choice. I was just sharing that it's difficult sometimes. I wasn't saying that as any critique of a long post because sometimes they are very good.

You have the right to do whatever you wish to do on this forum, within the guidelines. I would never say that you don't, particularly since I'm not a Mod!

Let me give you examples of crossing or not crossing that "medical line." IMO.

When someone can't move well or breathe well and don't know what to do, then telling them to dial 911 is NOT crossing that line. It's helping them, particularly if they are new to MG. We are not acting as a doctor, we are telling them to seek out a doctor.

If someone is having adverse reactions to a drug, for example, we should not tell them what to do (i.e., change their dose). Why? Only the prescribing doctor can say what to do about a drug. We would be acting as a doctor, instead of referring them back to their doctor.

Can you see the difference?

Sharing our experiences is great. This forum is an amazing source for so many people of varying diseases and conditions. As it states clearly below, even though some people may not read it, "Always consult your doctor before trying anything you read here." The problem is that some people will take medical advice if you don't refer them in the same breath to a doctor. I don't think any of us here would want to add to a worsening of someone's condition.

I was only looking out for people. That's it. It wasn't a slam on you, your post or anyone else. I support everyone and celebrate people I know for being who they are.
