Have you had a fall where you injured your ribs in the past?

I have been on prednisone for about 2 1/2 years and as a result have been diagnosed with osteoporosis. I recently started having tremendous pain in my lower back and after an exam by an orthopedic doctor found out that I have compression fractures in two vertebrae. I have not had an injury to my back recently but have had many falls over the last three years. All I can figure out is that area of my bones is the weakest area and that's the cause.

I agree that it would be a good idea to have an x-ray of your ribs and have a bone scan to determine more information. Maybe the x-ray will reveal if you have a damaged cartridge issue.
