PCS and Back Pain? Is neurologist missing something?
Hello, I am new to this forum and so far have felt such relief from relating to others with this condition.
I was in a car accident 11 months ago. I was rear ended at an angle from the drivers side. My car suffered only $1500 in damage yet my body seems to have beared all of the impact. I went to the ER the next day and was diagnosed with concussion and have also been diagnosed with whiplash. I am 27 and have been healthy, had just backpacked on hawaii for a month before the accident. now my life has changed drastically, i cannot sit for more than 20 minutes, have extreme sacrum/pelvis pain/pressure/popping, have neck pain, difficulty breathing deep, rapid heartbeat, extreme fatigue, anxiety, and bouts of depression because my life now consists of bed and small walks and relying on my boyfriend to do almost all of the cooking and cleaning and driving. I can't take care of myself am extremely stressed because I can't work so have no money and am scared for my future.
These last 11 months have been filled with so many treatments that have not helped much. I had an mri of my head that showed nothing wrong. ive had x rays that showed scoliosis, my neck protruding forward. Theyve found a few ribs out. I've done network chiropractic, Accupuncture, energy work, medical massage, chiropractic, osteopathy, all for about 3-4 months each. and now am just seeing a physical therapist who seems to think I have issues with my vagus nerve among many many other problems. She and my lawyer said I haven't been treated correctly by our medical system and wanted me to go to a neurologist.
So I did see a neurologist yesterday after waiting over a month fr my aappointment. He did a handful of nerve strength tests, moved my neck, back, looked into my eyes with a light, and said I don't need an mri but I have post concussion syndrome and it will take 1-3 years. I am so confused! It doesn't seem like back pain is necessarily related to pcs yet he gave me no diagnosis or anything about my back. Please help?? Thank you!!!!
