Question running/phys activity post TOS surgery

I had surgery at the end of april 2011 w/ dr. Thompson in stl for neurogenic tos. i had been misdiagnosed for several years-also tried to use the edgelow method/pt for a few years before the pain and my grip strength decreased to the point that I needed to have the surgery. I had pec minor surgery & supraclav decompression w/ 1st rib removal. I also had a lot of scar tissue from a car accident and removal of a fibrous band.

My current concern is that a lot of my symptoms seem to be creeping back in neck pain/some nerve pain down the arm. But now I also am having some pain that radiates around from my back to the mid-rib area. I don’t think that running necessarily irritates my symptoms BUT it probably isn’t helping.

I am just curious how many of you were able to return to a fairly active physical lifestyle post-surgery? running is my sanity saver and i really hate the thought of cutting it out of my life

I am lucky that my PT is wonderful and accommodating, but I think that I need to find a doctor other than my PCP to help me locally. I currently don’t take any meds – only ibprofuen prn.
