I am going to strongly recommend against long term use of the Z drugs such as ambien and it cousins. Benzodiazepines are also a problem. If you take these drugs and decide to go off of them, it is hell to pay. Been there, done that.

I use Pramipexole for the restless leg, which is now known as Willis-Ekbom disease. Opiates work for this too, but, then again there is the physical dependence issue and they have a short, but pretty miserable withdrawal....been there, done that too. More than once, which says something about my capacity to learn from experience.

I have arrived at the conclusion that treatment is worse than the disease. I just leave my body be. It seems to prefer that.
