new here
I am a 46 year old mother of 5. I have diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure, plus Small fiber peripheral neuropathy. I had a spinal cord stimulator (internal TENS unit) that helps some with the pain along with a cocktail of drugs that I take.
I had to quit my job in April as I was getting scared to drive. Plus it isn't good to by "fuzzy" when you are an accounting clerk.
I can't feel my feet, well I feel pain, but my feet are numb. this is also affecting my hands. I drop stuff, I trip over nothing. I can fall apart emotionally at any given moment. i just want to be there for my 2 youngest kids 12 and 8. I can't do housework. I feel like I am becoming a burden to my family. my husband has been out of work for almost 3 years (construction) somehow we just keep on keeping on.
I just hope that my disability claim goes thru. Waiting on a trial date. We are on welfare and food stamps until then.
I never thought that I would become disabled at such a young age. everything I read states that this is something that happens when you get older. Most of the people that see my neurologist are much older than me.
I am glad that I found this forum
