A lower neck upper thoracic problem will make a minor Carpal Tunnel Syndrome problem manifest as a major problem. C-6 to T-2 can all get inflamed. There are some stretch band exercises that can make this better. The band needs to be secured at head height. Pull across your chest at an angle so that you pull your shoulder blade toward the other shoulder blade. Do this five times with each arm every time you walk past this hanging stretch band.
Also, avoid sitting with your upper back against a pillow like sitting in bed to read. This strains this same area.
