In April 2011 Jan White invited me to visit Grand Haven to make two presentations on Pedaling for Parkinson's. She didn't know if there would be 15 or 50 people there, but she was so persuasive and so sincere that on a trip I was already making to Michigan I rented a car and drove from Ann Arbor to Grand Haven to give the talks. We estimated that 150 people came. Holly, from Generation Care, and other community leaders were there. The director of the YMCA arranged for a reporter. I was overwhelmed by the community service attitude displayed by all the partners. The patient, not profit or recognition, was the primary focus of all who were involved in putting the Pedaling For Parkinson's program together.

Grand Haven was one of the first Licensed PFP programs in the nation. Obviously they have followed through with the same commitment I saw 1.5 years ago. Congratulations to all!
