Hi all! I have a question.
First, a little about my PCS: tomorrow will be nine weeks since I fell down some stairs (I'm eighteen, had to take a medical leave from college). The first month after the fall was absolutely horrible. I slept most of the days away. When I was awake, I would have terrible headaches, migraines, nausea, and dizziness. It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that I started to break out of the fog. Once the long wait to see a neurologist was over, my main problem was the migraines. My symptoms were all still present (except for the nausea), just to a much lesser degree.
The doctor told me that the fall had triggered migraines that I already had a tendency toward. He sent me home with a bunch of medication. I took some steroids for a week and now I'm on Mobic/meloxicam (an NSAID) for a couple of months. I also have some "rescue medication" in case I still get a headache with either one. I feel a lot better now although I'm still not nearly back to normal yet. At least the pain is almost gone. I'm just wondering if it's normal/good for a doctor to prescribe a lot of medicine and tell me to move on with my life. I have lots and lots of other questions, but I figured I would start with that one.
