Default Post Front Tooth Extraction facial pain

I had resorption in one of my front teeth (no. 9) and had what appears to be a successful extraction on Dec 6. An implant was put in at the sane time. After a couple days, I started to feel severe pain in and around my nose, my left cheek and on my left gums and teeth.

I've been back to my dentist twice (both my oral surgeon and my DDS) and both say the area looks clean. No sign of infection. No fever. Just the amazingly debilitating facial, gum and nasal pain. It's been so uncomfortable that I'm not even wearing the stay plate.
Of course, I'm out of town now having gone ahead with a trip to visit my parents (ironically my pop was a dentist but he's 86 now and doesn't have a really good memory anymore nor has he practiced in decades). The pain seemed to subside but came back tonight with a vengeance.
There's also swelling directly behind the extracted tooth and a little on roof of my mouth. No other signs of infection however. No redness, fever, chills etc. The pain is strongest in an area that begins "between" my upper and lower teeth, expanding away from my mouth to my cheeks and then -- if this makes sense -- triangulating at my nose and sinus area. Feels like i got punched really hard in my nose. It doesn't seem to be in my jaw per se, as it doesn't hurt at the jaw joint at all. I've also had a burning sensation on the roof of my mouth and pain along my top gums.

This is not my first rodeo - I had two implants done simultaneously several years ago near the back (uppers) and there was no pain at all to speak of. My dentists are thorough and concerned and of high quality and yet they seemed stumped as to what could cause this pain (I should mention too that 2 sets of X-rays were taken and both showed no problems).

I've read through these forums - there seems similar problems but nothing that quite sums up what I'm going through. My family thinks I'm crazy but I can barely eat normal food and I'm still on the painkillers (though I'm allergic to opiates so they're not that strong). I feel like I have a very uncomfortable pair of braces in my mouth that I can't take out - this is without having anything there at all. Talking at times is agonizing.

Would be interested in hearing thoughts, theories or similar experiences. Certainly any remedies you might suggest that I have yet tried. I'm rinsing regularly with salt water and the mouthwash the dentist gave me.
The stitches have started to fall out but are still mostly in. Annoying but I can live with that. It's the pain that's starting to drive me nuts. It's almost two weeks. Shouldn't I be on the mend by now?
Thank you for hearing me out. I admit I'm really starting to get worried. For diagnostic sake, I'm a 48-year-old female in very good shape and great general health.
Happy Holidays.
