Sorry; guess I am just simply of an older generation, i.e. that I/we read, simply/only & loved Tolkein in early undergrad university years ... and I simply could never 'connect' the decades-subsequent major movies productions to that of my own imagination back in reading Tolkein in the early 1970s.
The movies were simply for me "too much" in the way of overly-dramatic sound and such ... and that was even pre-TBI/PCS!
I've just lifelong preferred my own imaginative mental-pictures of characters in literature, etc.
Sorry to be such an old fuddy-duddy 'who doesn't get it' here!
No attempt to 'rain on your parade', Darlin, I assure you!
I'm sure younger posters here will relate/connect!
