Hello Kell
You said this happened after some pretty heavy lifting and moving things. Sounds like you may have pulled the muscle especially if you say that it is on one side.
If it is a muscle sprain/strain then using ice packs, the medications or anti-inflammatories you mentioned and keeping hydrated are keys to recovery. Also try massaging the area. Up here in Alaska I have some homemade massage oil with peppermint, cedar oil and clary sage that works wonders on my muscles.
Also keep the leg as elevated as you can especially when resting.
If your condition persists over a week or so I would go to my doctor. If I were you I would go now, because you may have herniated the area especially if you say it is in the groin area.
