I am another flip flop lover! Although I live in the DC area, I wear them as long as I can. This year this burning has become very bad-wearing tennis shoes DRIVES ME NUTS!! Even loosely tied-I dont know why. I even end up taking them off when I'm driving. In the barn I wear Ariat pull on barn shoes and the don't bother me at all. Wish I lived in a climate where I could wear flip flops year round.......I have to make sure they are not "loose" and fit snuggly in the toe point area, otherwise I have a hard time keeping them on
