She is so SO very loyal. She's always by my side, especially when I'm 'down' or going thru a pain flare. She has a way of sensing this. Many dogs have this ability and I find it so amazing.
As far as depression goes, I know for a fact that Sadie has saved me a wad of $ that would have been spent on psychotherapy. Well, I DO see a psychiatrist for the meds I'm on, but just having a loyal dog like this creates such a sense of 'peace' when we are in the same room together.
.......nuff said ........ I better go give my hubby a hug

You had better give hubby a hug, because he might feel neglected!!!
Anyway, Johanna, we have a Poodle Cocker mix, and thus he is smart, sociable, lowkey, and Does Not Shed.... nice for the human who does not like to pick up dog hair.
May you find a right blend or breed for your needs and desires, and enjoy the daylights out of having such a faithful companion. Uh huh. Our pup stayed by my side for every one of thirty four surgery recoveries as he wanted to be assured I was OK, I reckon.
Blessings be,
