I can't walk a dog anymore and there are days when I could even get a dog downstairs to "go" properly. I know there are puddle pads for such use but find that unacceptable. I had a cat who died of renal failure several years ago. It was a perfect match. He was a cantancerous beast.. I can't deal with a litter box anymore. Even after I heal up, the doctor is concerned that litter box management could cause another blow out.
If you can manage animal care, I sure would take advantage of the companionship they provide. Best wishes.

Furbaby does explain it...they are as loved as children.
I am sorry abut your cat who was such a match for you..
how does God do that so well.
I also have birds...a Macaw that loves me and calls me "Ma" and 10 cockatiels (long story). The "tiels are so smart and I think you could handle a small cage if you think that a bird would give you a companion. I am surprised by their intelligece and were my life line when I was home bound for 18 months. They are messy so more than one makes for twice the mess.
Thanks for the well wishes...I feel at this time in my life the extra work of a pet is good for me as I have been isolating and the move with an active community was all part of my get out of depression plan.
