Update
Hey Mark,
My current symptoms are:
1. Slight foggyness it goes on and off during the day, getting better. It doesn't really bother me anymore I can typically go through a day with it. If I don't eat a meal in time I may get foggy but after I eat I'm fine.
2. I get stiffness in the neck or shoulders if I sit in front of a computer for long periods of time or have bad posture in a chair.
3. Usually being in a large crowds or loud music irritates me and I feel like I'm spacing out hearing all these sounds. I have to be in a quite place for a few minutes. Then I can go back to the crowd but I usually stay away from these situations.
I have been playing hockey since I was 11 or 12 playing roller so not much contact... I skated out for more most of my years. It was 5 or 6 years ago when I started seriously playing goalie. This was my first bad concussion so far. I did get hit in the head accidentally with a puck while I was changing out of my gear. I went to the doctor and after a week I was fine. As far as pucks to the face during the games while playing goalie, I'm not sure. I remember getting hit in the face/cage a few times with the puck and then all of a sudden I would get a ringing in the ear for a few seconds and then it go away. I was fine afterwards and I wouldn't get any problems after those times I would get hit in the cage with a puck.
I'm Male, 26 years old, U.S.A. I haven't drank really in 6 or 7 months. I remember I drank a beer in Hong Kong when I was on vacation and I felt terrible. I didn't know if I was buzzed or super foggy... I stopped drinking all together. As far as work I just sit in front of computer screen all day so I take a few breaks to stretch out my neck.
For Supplements he gave me:
Calcium lactate 3 times a day
Fish oil I think they're called Optimal EFA's Caps 3 times a day
Thymex (this was in the beginning) 3 times a day. He gave me a new one B12 trace minerals 3 times a day
Catylan 3 times a day
For Hyperbaric chamber I was kinda skeptical about it.... but he gave me a good deal for each session so I said why not. I've only done about 12 sessions so far for 35-40 minutes at 1000 levels. They did go higher one time but I felt pretty foggy after that so they dropped back to 1000. It is pretty expensive, I remember skipping one week and I felt really foggy that whole week because of lack of sleep, stress, eating bad... etc. So I guess it's been helping me so far? It's hard to say.
Well, for the icing the neck and shoulders he didn't really tell me to do that. When I went to the ER they said warm pack was better? I was using a thermipaq whenever my i would get sore in the neck or shoulders and that would help. (Also, when I went to the nuerologist I got an mri on my cervical spine and brain and they said my brain was fine but I had arthritis in my neck?) I felt like I had arthritis in my neck and they said I was going to be fine and have a great weekend?!) I was like well okay? Am I going to be fine? This was back in August... I started seeing my Chiro end of October. He's definitely helped me a lot. The first day I saw my Chiro I couldn't turn my neck to the right and I was pretty sore on my right side of my neck. He got my legs, arms, chest a lot stronger.
Thanks,
