What a beautiful cat!!! I'm so happy she's home with you guys!

just a note on handling... when holding an adult cat, one should always support the hind quarters. Ideally, the hand facing the cat goes under both forearms; the other hand "wraps up" the hind quarters, paws included, so the cat is in a "sitting" posture and its entire weight is supported by that hand.

This is not for comfort, although the cat will be more comfortable, nor to avoid the cat "escaping" or slipping, although those are much is less likely too.

This is to avoid potential injury to the cat. it is particularly important with heavy cats, but should be done with all adult-sized cats (6 months and older).

Christina here, although tolerant of the handling, shows mild displeasure - her ears are slightly back. The fact that her paws are outstretched in clawing/grasping posture shows she does not feel stable (like she is falling) - she is reading to grab on at first sign of slippage.

anyway congratulations on your new family member!

p.s. Derrick is looking mighty fine!
