Ear pain can be Geniculate Neuralgia, which I think are issues with nerves 7, 8 and the "nervous intermedius" which I believe is between the two. However, I have certainly seen many folks with ATN mention ear pain.
My cardiologist said that I went from a minor problem with high blood pressure to a major one due to the relentless severe pain.

I gather you're on bp meds. Constant pain is rough on your blood pressure and needs to be controlled as best as it can. I thought the ears were separate nerves, but I have a lot of med problems and more than one doc has told me about cross communication of nerves and that can play a part in all of this as well. I can't describe this any further as I don't get any further clarification aside from they all bounce signals off of each other and something about hyperexcitability of the nerves
