Wow the brain is interesting. To see the injury unfold from the other side of it is very sobering.

Poor child. Day two started ok, but he has significantly more head and neck pain despite a good sleep.

Very quiet morning, he sang to himself while doing a hockey sticker book and I was encouraged... Then...

Total emotional outburst. Rarely breaks down like that, says he's just so confused by everything. Everything hurts and its too bright. Got him calmed down. Once again Dad is gone because he's coaching the team and my boy just fell apart when he left. "I want Daddy when will Daddy be back" which is also very unlike him to revert to younger-child type worries.

My heart is breaking for him. If I could add a year to my misery to save him one day of his, I would.

About it: October 26, 2012 I fell backward on an icy parking lot at work. I was on Workers Comp for 9 months. My PCS : everyday headaches became once in a while headaches, and neck pain became manageable. Still have occasional mild dizziness, sometimes fullness in the ears, convergence insufficiency, sequencing struggles, short term memory struggles, verbal processing delays. CT neg, MRI neg. Therapies: prism glasses, acupuncture, icing neck, resting, supplementing, Elavil 20mg at bedtime.

NEW: Completed 12 weeks of physical therapy and returned to work full time.

About me: I'm a marketing manager, a mom with a blended family and wife to a heart attack survivor. I believe my brain injury taught me more than it cost me. I'm grateful to still be me!
