I just feel like I need to try SOMEthing. Being sedentary just makes things worse, especially if a person is susceptible to depression.

I do get out and walk (when I can). I don't use the aqua pool much anymore - the membership fee is pricey.

Of course, the stretching required of yoga is obviously a red flag with our leads and all, but if done safely and carefully, I'm thinking this could be a good thing.

Input?

I've done it with out much problem. I turn my stim down very low other wise the movements cause the stim to go crazy. Start slow. If in a class let instructor know of your limitations, they can suggest modified poses. If using a DVD start with a beginner class. It's great for strengthening your core.
Good luck
