So Hello! I'm Gary and I am 44 years old and from the UK.
A couple of years ago I started to get some horrible pains in the right side of my head. I also had pain in my jaw and my teeth became very sensitive too. It came out of nowhere and was very uncomfortable. I don't often visit the Doctors but I couldn't stand the pain any longer and decided to make an appointment to see him.

I was diagnosed as having Trigeminal Neuralgia and was prescribed 200mg Carbargen tablets and told to take 3 per day. After a week or so of taken them, the pain kind of disappeared so I stopped taking them but the pain soon came back so I went back on them and continued to take them for a couple of months.

I remember that when I first started taking the tablets, everything seemed to slow down a bit. The voices I heard didn't sound right. It was almost as if they had been slowed down. I also felt as if I was a bit tipsy and wobbly and sometimes it felt like things were moving when they weren't. I was told by the Doctor that it would go away once my body got used to the tablets.

In the end things went away and I didn't have any more problems up until 4 days ago when it re-appeared. I was told that this could happen. It's been just over 2 years and now I am back on the tablets again and experiencing the same side effects only this time they feel worse? I have been back on the tablets for 3 days now yet I still feel wobbly and tipsy and voices etc seem like they are slower?

Has anyone else had a re-occurrence of Trigeminal Neuralgia?
How long roughly do the side effects take to go away?

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
G
