Default Tmj

My (4th) neurologist noticed that my jaw was out of alignment-this was caused by the surfing accident that caused my concussion, so he sent me to a special dentist who developed an orthodontic device that I wear at night to re-align my jaw. It took a long time to get the device correct but now that the dentist has found the correct measurements etc, I have much less facial pain. My jaw was off by 6 mm. I will probably need to use the device for another year or so. I feel lucky that my neurologist figured this out. I wouldn't go to any run of the mill dentist. If I were you I would try to find a dentist that is expert in jaw alignment and tmj. I use to wake up with a bad headache every morning and I no longer do.
