Default New Here...tongue paresthesia

I am new here and am hopeful I can get some direction. I went in for a filling last week and when my Dentist injected me with the anesthetic for a lower tooth, I felt a stabbing pain in my tongue. It was a level 10 for a few seconds. Since then the right side of my tongue is numb, tingly and sometimes throbs up to my ear. I felt panic for the first two days as it felt like I had something stuck in my throat. The only thing the Dentist said was, 'guess I hit a nerve'. I called back to let them know of my symptoms and they said it wasn't his fault (I didn't blame anyone but was reporting my symptoms) and they said it would go away. The person that advised me was the receptionist. I now have slightly slurred speech. I'm trying to find out who I go to for information on what to expect recovery wise for the paresthesia and any treatment options. Delta Dental had no idea. I get the impression that I'm on my own since the dentist office seemed very unconcerned and scheduled me for another procedure on the other side. Thank you everyone...
Maria
