I have had minor swelling before. My hands now are always somewhat swollen, but I don't have any pain in them except rarely. But then I am not typical, I am learning now.
Are they hot? Discolored? Is the skin shiney?
Shiney, tight skin is a sign of scleroderma which is an autoimmune disorder. I used to work with a woman who had this, but her fingers while clawed to some extent, were not swollen that I could see.
If you take an anti-inflammatory drug like ibuprofen or aspirin, are they better?
Some of the drugs used for PN pain can cause swelling. Gabapentin, Lyrica, opiates, antidepressants.
