I have MP constantly for over two years now and it was on and off for 4 years before that. From what I have read anything olds three months is unlike to get better by conservative measured alone. So dependent on length and severity of your MP u may get relief from conservative methods such weight loss bed rest, loose fitting clothing and both inflammatory medication. It looks like I may have to have surgery but would not take this option unless absolutely necessary and all other avenues have been exhausted. I have also suffered from back problems and have had to surgeries on disc prolapse in last 8 year's so my whole core is weak and I can barely stand for more than a few minutes. I would see a doctor and ask for medication to help in the short term and ask to be referred to a neuro specialist for both your mp and back problems.
I wish you luck in in finding some relief as a life of pain is no life at all
