You do not soak them for four days...soak them in filtered or spring water for 24 hrs/ then rinse and drain 3 times a day. They will begin to sprout and some will have long "Noses" by then.After the 4 days, soak about 1/2 hr ...it makes peeling the skins off easier/ cut away any bad places you come across (dark) rinse again and steam about 5 minutes . They will be easily chew-able for dosing . They freeze well in a ziplock or plastic container for quick snacks or to mash for "sprout balls" (check previous posts) If using for tincture ...steam only a minute or so to "set " the nutrients (like blanching vegies for the freezer) ..then mash and add brandy. Do a month of shaking /strain / wait 24 hours /and siphon off clear liquid and bottle)This is a great way to carry l-dopa (though isn't as strong as plant tops tincture.
For home use.... eating sprouts or sprout balls is a more efficient way to supplement.
