Default 5 hours 200 miles

Praising God we made it safely to a motel in Raton NM. Have never before driven in total whiteout conditions. Determined we are to make it to the test in Ft Worth; however, it may be God's good grace which tells us it is a leap too far this time. Had our kids check the blizzard conditions and they are to worsen until 4 am [I known not how] then blizzard with high wind and driven snow until noon. 9 hours from here to Dallas FW under dry highway conditions. That last fifteen miles took us a hair pulling hour and a half with blinkers running and three cars caravaned together. Funny, no one was using blinkers until we came along and just plain could not always see car in front of us. Blinkers came on in our car, then the forward two made it so.

It was absolutely frightening, for we could not see the edge of the road on a mountain pass, let alone beyond the hood of our car. Thus, we found first motel, a decent one, and pulled off to be safe. Our kids were thrilled we threw in the towel for today. If this persists until noon tomorrow, I think we will be hard pressed to make it on in to Dallas FW.

Gonna follow the path of safety having given it our all. The remainder is up to the Lord, who delivered us safely this far.

G'night and thank you for prayers.
