Neuropathy has so many potential causes the work-ups are often long and expensive, assuming you can find a doctor willing to be as comprehensive as needed, and not always fruitful (many do end up being idiopathic). And symptoms them stem from the central nervous system--brain and spinal cord--can absolutely mimic those that come from peripheral nerve.
