Default Anyone used both Neurontin and generic Gabapentin?

I am not happy!

Two and a half years ago when I went on generic Gabapentin it helped a bunch but like many of you experience you need to continue ramping the dose to stay effective. As I approached my ideal pain control dose of 1800 mg/day IBS and constipation symptoms hit me worse and worse. After 18 months of trips to the GI doc, some trial and error and Gralise samples from my doc we discovered it was the Gabapentin. I attribute it largely to lowering the Gralise to 1200 mg since for me it seems just as effective as the Gabapentin 1800.

As of Jan 1. my insurance prior approval process will not cover Gralise because it is only FDA approved for Postherpetic Neuralgia, or pain from shingles. The mindless flowchart drones don't seem to realize that shingles nerve pain is the same as SFN and peripheral neruropathy pain.

Has anyone used both Neurontin and generic Gabapentin? Have you noticed a difference? Is there any chance I might have less constipation on Neurontin?

I should mention I've tried all the other drugs: Lyrica, Amatriptaline, Metanx, NSAIDs, etc.
