Default SCS Implant Completed

Hi Everyone,

Well my implant has been completed. I am now 3 days post op and this by far has been my worst day. I have a friend who is a nurse and she warmed me hat today would likely be bad, oh boy she was not joking. I have been taing the oxycodone and a whole host of other drugs, including antibiotics for 1 week.
I have no regrets everything seemed to go fine, I was awake for the whole surgery. For me it was easy but for my mother who was waiting the whole time she got pretty stressed, the surgery went 4.5 hours longer than expected, my Dr and rep from Boston Scientific were working to "tweak" everything they could. My husband did not make it until after I went into surgery ( he was out of town) .....
I go back in 5 days to see my Dr and the BS rep will be there to start adjustments, but I am using my unit right now, pretty much the majority of the day. I can really only sleep on my stomach due to the surgical wounds but hopefully another week will make a diffrence.
This update was pretty much my first activity and since I just took my drugs I will be going to sleep pretty soon, ( eyes are getting heavy )
My Dr. called me the next afternoon to check on me and I have gotten the "lecture" about limited activity for the next 8 weeks, Yada Yada Yada, those of you who had the implant know what I am speaking of.
So, now it is time to rest, heal and get this unit tweaked with our goal from the beginning to control pain. Oh, here is a good tale, after surgery I am in the recovery room in major pain both from surgery and the fact that I did not get my regular pain meds before surgery, nurse wants to know my pain level for CRPS and for incisions, I give her HIGH numbers for both, then she says sorry I can't have any pain medicine right now because my BP is way too low, like 64/46, oh come on give me a break, so at that point the BS rep comes into the room and starts working on her computer and getting the unit up and going to try and help with pain control.
Thanks to everyone for assistance pre surgery.

Goodnight, Kim
