Are you having both sides done at once? I had one side done and spent 3 nights in the hospital (I was told to expect 4 nights in the hospital but got to go home early). If you are having both sides operated on, spending only one night in the hospital is pretty optimistic/ambitious.

One other forum member (Livelovetrust) recently had surgery on both sides. She may be able to weigh in on hospital stay, etc. I've read about people here who've had surgery far from their homes. They sometimes spend several days following discharge from the hospital in nearby hotels.

Your questions and concerns are very reasonable and rational. Hopefully the surgeon or his staff can provide you with information so you can prepare for the surgery.
