Just got in from picking fava flowers in the greenhouse. My 3 x 6 experimental patch that I planted the end of August to see what it might do is still growing . There are no pollinators in the greenhouse so the flowers will make no beans. I took openned and un-openned flowers, enough to fill a large size Smuckers Natural peanut butter jar. They don't need to be dried...so it is the easiest tincture that I make now. Add Brandy to almost the top of the flowers (they shrink some and will be covered in a day) if not covered after a day of shaking...add alittle more brandy. Shake for a month and strain (there is hardly any sediment or waste with this tincture either and it is a different color...kind of a rosey tint to it) Don't know the l-dopa content ...still no researcher has come forth to test things for me. But this is an easy one to grow plants for and make....and there are no aphids on the flowers!!!!!!! Have a great day you-all.
