There are two basic OTC approaches to PN pain.
One involves supplements, and one involves OTC drugs/patches.
If you suspect certain types of deficiencies, then nutrients may help.
If you have an inflammatory component, then Salonpas patches may help. For burning-- a product high in menthol/camphor like Biofreeze helps some. We have posters who also use IcyHot.
Also AlkaSeltzer original formula works for some of us. And there are posts here about aspirin as well. It is best to discuss aspirin with your doctor, since everyday use may lead to bleeding anywhere including the stomach. The AlkaSeltzer is less dangerous because it is in solution and very quickly absorbed, but systemic aspirin will affect platelets in the blood.
Some people with autoimmune diseases have low platelets.
Capsaicin (capsicum)cream is also in many PN remedies, but many of us cannot tolerate that burning. But some find it useful.
I am finding that the magnesium lotion really helps my feet. Even reduces swelling.
