If people look at this player and then say to other MSers "Why can't you be like him," then they are just idiots! And I think people need to be told they are being idiotic and rude.

I also feel that newly diagnosed people can look at this athlete and feel hopeful that their life isn't 100% over from the get go. It doesn't mean they won't ever progress or hit rock bottom but I can tell you that stories like this would have alleviated some of my fears in the beginning that all was doomed. MS comes in all shapes and sizes.
