Hope things turn out well for you. I don't have any answers to your questions. I think each person has to find what works and what does not work for them. You could ask your doctor for different medication if that one is not working. It is ok to take it with supplements. I know the sunglasses help a lot. I wear mine all the time. They really cut down on the number of headaches. You could try extra strength excederin. You can just buy it at the store. It works well and has caffeine in it.

Had MVA in 2006 resulting in post concussive syndrome manifested by cognitive impairment, chronic pain/ fatigue. Chronic pain of head, neck, back, left leg.
Other problems include REM sleep behavior disorder, nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy, chronic migraines associated with nausea/vertigo, episodes of passing out, hypoglycemia, liver dysfunction (had accidental overdose of acetaminophen in 2009) had liver and kidney failure, hernia, degenerative disc disease with compression of nerve root, PTSD, and other problems associated with functioning problems from traumatic brain injury (light, sound sensitive, easily overloaded, easily distracted, cannot focus, anxiety problems etc.)
