Default Continuing pain

Thank you so much for your reply, the DDS is an implant specialist who has oral surgery training. I was given periorx to rinse with 3x a day for a week. I have been trying to limit the ibuprofen was told to piggy back it with Tylenol but I haven't because Tylenol has never worked for me and it is hard on the liver. Today I am having quite a bit of pain, it isn't subsiding I am trying to keep the 600 ibuprofen at 8 hours or more apart. My fear is that he is going to put me on another antibiotic or up the clindamycin which has been hard on my system and even with probiotics I have had a lot of gastrointestinal unpleasantness, despite my bland, soft diet.
I am scared something is wrong, I had an implant done on the opposite side at the same time and it is healing great, I can't even feel it. What is the usual protocol if the antibiotics aren't working? How do know if there is even an infection that is causing the pain? The burning is happening even when I don't use my mouth.
Thanks so so much for your help, I am losing my patience and very anxious about this.

The burning sensation can be the pulling of the tissue when you over use your jaw. So cut back on using your jaw. Eat only soft foods and avoid talking a lot.

The bruising underneath the jaw is common when a dentist or assistant places their hand there as a leverage to hold the jaw open.

Muscle pain is also typical after a difficult extraction due to the trauma of manipulating the jaw during the extraction.

All of those things will subside over the course of a few weeks providing you ease up on using the jaw.

Be very mindful of taking that much Ibuprofen at one time. It can do a real number on your kidneys and digestive system for a long time. Try to take less at one time and spread out the dosages. Keep rinsing with the warm salt water 3-4 times a day.... no smoking..... no use of mouthwash or mouth rise what so ever as the chemicals can disrupt the healing process and cause the surgerized tissue to burn.

I hope this is helpful to you. If you decide to do those things for a few days.... check back and let us know how you're doing!
