My doctor is a year into his first year attending and he writes me pain medication. Age of MD does not dictate rather or not one receives opiate pain relievers. Genuine and documented pain that has failed all other modalities of relief get opiates.
Just read your post. "I am sorry but narcotics are not the only thing effective for pain." I didnt try Tylenol, Ibuprofen(3200 mg day) Celebrex, Cymbalta, Neurotin, Mobic, Lyrica, Relafen and Toradol(take 5 days, wait, take 5 days...)I just go around and ask doctors for narcotics. And when doctors want to give me epidurals(had 9, no help, insurance company wont pay for them anymore, medically unnecessary they said) or S1 joint injections(3 , same as epidurals) or the non narcotic meds that I already tried I get upset. But thats me, I just enjoy taking narcotics meds that are doing God knows what to my body, just to get a little relief from the pain. Thanks for setting me straight.
