Hi my name is Mac im 49 & from Warwickshire U.K.I have had atypical facial paiothingn for nearly 2 years & still dont seem to be getting anywere with pain managment,im going to write how it started & whats been happening so far to see if anyone can identify whats wrong but you will have to bare with me as im not to good on the computer.August 2011 i had a tingling in my lip which i thought was a cold sore within a couple of days the tingling had spread all over my left side of my face & nose i went to the docs who gave me antiviral tabs no good,then he gave me antibiotics no good,dentist gave me stronger antibiotics no good,started to get shocks all over face inside mouth dentist pulled tooth no good,went to hospital had c.t scan nothing,doc gave me gabapentin no good,carbomazapine no good.I was rushed into hospital to have nerve block as i lost so much weight through not eating no good.Nearly 2 years on ive had 3 MRI's T.N nerve is touching arteries on both sides as now both sides of my face are in pain left more than thew right,seen numerous neuro surgeons who say its not T.N as i dont have the normal symptoms Ive had acupuncture no good,face feels like its been burnt inside mouth feels like its scolded shocks have gone,sensitive to touch & ants crawling under my skin,On Lyrica 200mg cant take higher dose as zombies me.pain only goes when asleep,i have tried every med can think off amitriptyline worked for a while no good now, morphine cymbalta duloxetine prednislone etoricox lidocaine patches carbatrol.I dont know what to do or who to see anymore,my doc will help as much as he can but i get the feeling he has give up,is there anyone out there who could give me advice on what to do as i feel like im on my own,has anyone had the same symptoms.Sorry msg is a bit long winded
