It also hasn't done anything for the neuropathy at this point, in fact the last two weeks have not been good.

Does anyone else have this side effect from Elavil? Can I just stop taking elavil or do I have to ween off of it?

I just started taking supplements as suggested here. I know they take some time to start helping. I'm not sure I can take any of the drugs that the docs want to try.

Just looking for some thoughts from other folks here and what they've experienced.

Thanks for listening.
I'm taking Nortriptyline (Pamelor) which is a sister drug to Amitriptyline (Elavil). I had some ringing in my ears before, and think the drug has upped it some. Since I already experienced some ringing, it isn't as troubling to me. In fact, when it stops for a bit, I kind of look around to see if I've gone deaf. LOL. They say you should give 6-8 weeks to give these drugs achance, but that's your call. I'm at 50 mg for about 2 weeks now.
