Default Two ways to post replies

Here on this forum, we can post replies two different way. There is the Reply button at the bottom right in the post you are reading. There is also a POST REPLY button at the bottom left and top left of the topic.

The Reply button inside the post will include a full quote of that post. For some of this, this creates visual clutter and the quote has different formatting that the Reply. It also requires more scrolling to read through the thread. Scrolling with a touch pad can be a bit troublesome, especially when excessive scrolling is needed.

A single sentence affirming a 20 line quote can also be communicated with a "thank you" affirming that specific post. It can make navigating the various posts so much easier.

The Post Reply and the top and bottom left of the thread does not Quote the post. These posts are much easier to read due to the simpler formatting.

Both Reply buttons post the Reply at the bottom of the entire thread.

In most cases, the left Post Reply button is an appropriate way to reply. If you notice the post quoted and you did not mean to quote the previous post, you can "back" out of that Reply and click the left Post Reply. I do it often when I hit the wrong reply button.

I am not picking on anyone in particular. I am more frustrated with my cantankerous Alps touchpad. If I try to make a long scroll gesture, it sometimes takes me off into unwanted space. I can't imagine the struggles to scroll using touch based tablets and smart phones.
