I sometimes get that "forgot to breathe" feeling. When I am at high elevations (4,000 feet above sea level or more) it becomes much, MUCH worse. I also seem to stop breathing in my sleep when ever I go into REM sleep. It is still called sleep apnea, but it is not the obstructive kind.
